Falcone and Borsellino“ waterfront”
Lamezia Terme (CZ) Calabria - Southern Italy
Dimartino is one of the most refined and visionary Italian singer-songwriters of his generation. He was born in Agrigento in 1983, Antonio Di Martino has built over time a career capable of moving elegantly between singer-songwriter, psychedelic pop and sound experimentation. A voice that does not scream, but remains - for the precision of the images, the sharp irony, the ability to transform the everyday into something universal.
At Colour Fest 14the 13 August 2026 on the Lungomare Falcone e Borsellino in Lamezia Terme, Dimartino performs in only date in Calabriaone of the most eagerly awaited events of the edition, a concert that promises to be one of the most intense moments of the entire three days.
Raised in Sicily, Dimartino brings to his sound the cultural density of an island that is the crossroads of everything. His debut album Dear Teacher (2009) immediately revealed an author outside the box: literary lyrics, refined arrangements, an already accomplished artistic vision. Subsequent works - from To Memo (2011) a Disorder is (2014) - consolidate Dimartino's reputation as one of the most consistent and original authors on the Italian scene.
His writing is made up of precise images, subtle irony and a never complacent melancholy. In each album there is Sicily - in the colours, rhythms, literary references - but also a total openness to sounds that look towards the international pop of the 1960s and 1970s, art rock, and psychedelia.
The popular breakthrough came with the artistic partnership with Colapesce, resulting in one of the best-loved duets in contemporary Italian music. In 2021 Light Music becomes one of the most broadcast and sung songs in Italy: a song that seems to be written in light ink but hides a sophisticated construction, capable of standing well in the mainstream charts without betraying the stylistic signature of the two artists.
The duo consolidated their success with the subsequent Get off (2022), with participation in the Sanremo Festival - where in 2021 they came second with Musica Leggerissima and in 2022 they returned with Splash - and with the successful album Lux Eterna Beach. Colapesce Dimartino thus become the symbol of a musical Sicily that is both cultured and popular at the same time.
Parallel and never dormant, the Dimartino's solo career tells another story: darker, more intimate, more courageous. The albums Mortals (2017) e Mortals² (2019) explore soundscapes that mix the great tradition of Sicilian songwriting, psychedelia and international auteur pop. Works that have been enthusiastically received by critics, recognising in Dimartino an author capable of making his personal world something universal.
2022 marks a new summit with Hawaiian album of rare beauty, where the writing becomes even more essential and the sounds open up to cinematic and Mediterranean suggestions. An album that confirms Dimartino as an indispensable voice of contemporary Italian songwriting.
Those who have seen Dimartino live know that his concerts have a special quality: there is a concentration, an attention to words and music that is rarely found on Italian stages. It is not spectacle for its own sake, but the ability to create a shared moment in which the audience feels that what is happening is necessary.
The live show at Color Fest 14 will be an opportunity for the Calabrian public to meet an artist who - between his solo career and success with Colapesce Dimartino - has traversed every corner of the Italian music scene, always remaining faithful to a rigorous and personal artistic vision.
The Colour Fest is the waterfront music festival of Lamezia Terme, now in its 14th edition with the concept Summer on a Solitary Beach. From 11 to 13 August 2026, on the Lungomare Falcone e Borsellino - Riviera dei Tramonti, the festival brings to Calabria some of the most eagerly awaited live performances of the Italian summer season.
