Yīn Yīn at Color Fest 14: tropical psychedelia from the Netherlands

Yīn Yīn at Color Fest 14, 12 August 2026 — Day 2

The Yīn Yīn at Colour Fest 14 They are one of the most surprising acts of this year’s festival: the Dutch quartet bring their tropical psychedelia to the Riviera of Sunsets by Lamezia Terme for a single date, Wednesday 12 August 2026, in the Day 2 of the festival. A hypnotic, incredibly danceable live set, built around Thai funk, Asian disco and analogue synths, which will transform the beach into an open-air dance floor.

Who are Yīn Yīn?

Yīn Yīn — official artwork for Color Fest 14, Day 2

The Yīn Yīn are born in Maastricht, in the Netherlands, in the 2017, from a jam session between Yves Lennertz and the drummer Kees Berkers. From that initial core, the project has grown to become a quartet a cult favourite on the European scene: today, the line-up brings together Kees Berkers, Remy Scheren, Erik Bandt (who took over from Lennertz) and Jerry Scherry, who joined on keyboards at the start of the 2025 instead of Robbert Verwijlen.

In less than a decade, they have built up an international reputation thanks to their instantly recognisable sound and tireless live performances, which have taken them to prestigious venues such as Lowlands, Le Guess Who?, Paléo and Eurosonic. Their stop at the Colour Fest It’s one of the few opportunities to see them in Italy this summer 2026.

The sound: tropical psychedelia and Asian disco

The figure for the Yīn Yīn It is an unusual, magnetic fusion. At its heart is the Thai and Laotian psychedelia of the 1970s — the so-called luk thung and the molam — mounted on Asian disco-funk, library music Italian, surfing e dub. The arrangements feature a blend of guitars fuzz, analogue synthesisers vintage, bouncy disco basslines and hypnotic percussion, with a melodic flair that gives a nod to both Khruangbin as for the Kraftwerk.

It’s music designed for dancing, but with a sound crafted with a collector’s eye: warm grooves, cinematic atmospheres and that sense of exotic travel that makes each of their tracks a little imaginary soundtrack. Live, the energy rises even further, and the audience inevitably ends up moving to the music.

Her discography and her new album “Yatta!”

The recording career of the Yīn Yīn He has gone from strength to strength, album after album, always with various record labels Bongo Joe e Glitterbeat:
