The Colour Fest is not just a festival: it is a community. The rules for the ideal festival-goer These aren’t just rules posted on a sign, but small gestures that turn three days of music into an unforgettable experience. On the Riviera of Sunsets, nestled between the pine forest and the sea of Calabria, music, nature and people truly come together. Over the course of fourteen editions, we’ve learnt one simple thing: the audience is the real heart of it all. And that’s why we’ve brought together six simple “rules” — more heartfelt advice than rules — to make the most of Colour Fest 14scheduled 11, 12 and 13 August 2026 a Lamezia Terme (CZ), on the Falcone and Borsellino promenade.
Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been coming back every summer for years, this little guide will help you get into the right spirit. Because a festival is only as good as its audience: and the audience at the Colour Fest, as far as we're concerned, is the best there is.
1) Getting to the door opening

Did you pay for your ticket? Enjoy all the shows. The Colour Fest It starts from the very first moment: from the moment you step onto the seafront, from the first glimpse of the pine forest, from the first sound coming from the stage. Arriving when the doors open means you won’t miss a thing — not even the surprises on the side stages, the emerging artists of the Marley Stage and that unrepeatable atmosphere of the early hours, when the light of the Calabrian sunset envelops everything.
The first sets of the afternoon are often the most surprising: smaller crowds, more space, and the chance to discover an act that will become your new musical obsession. Across the festival’s four stages — Tramonti Stage (CUPRA Stage), Pinewood Stage, Future Stage, Marley Stage — featuring over twenty artists. Take a look at the complete lineup and plan your ideal itinerary: arriving early is the best way to make the most of it.
2) Enjoying all the shows

OK, listening to your favourite band is sacrosanct. But discovering new artists is what festivals are all about. The line-up for the Colour Fest It’s designed to surprise: every name is carefully chosen, and every live show is an opportunity to fall in love with something you didn’t know before. From international headliners such as Apparat, Sébastien Tellier e Django Django, … right through to the up-and-coming projects on the Italian independent scene — let your curiosity guide you.
Just think of what you might miss out on if you only stopped at one stage: the visionary electronic music of Apparat the’11 August, the singer-songwriter pop of Sébastien Tellier the 12 August, the electrifying art-rock of Django Django the 13 August. And then the Mediterranean sounds of C'mon Tigre, the energy of The Zen Circus, the groove of Yin Yin: The best bit is hopping from one stage to the next and letting yourself be surprised. The golden rule is simple: leave yourself room to be amazed.
3) Peace: embracing diversity

We are and will always remain a welcoming place of love. The Colour Fest It is a place where anyone can feel at home, regardless of where they come from, who they are, or what they love. If you love art, you’ll share this sentiment too. Diversity isn’t just accepted: it’s celebrated. It’s our strength, the reason why people from all over Italy and abroad choose to gather here, together, every August.
In practice, this means specific things: always ask for consent Before entering someone’s personal space or taking a photo, respect other people’s boundaries and be mindful of those around you whilst you’re dancing. A “excuse me” said with a smile, a helping hand to someone who has fallen at the foot of the stage, a sip of water offered to someone in need: these are the small gestures that make the difference between a crowd and a community. At Colour Fest We always choose the community.
4) Dance - freely in nature

Respect the places you visit, whilst making the most of them. La Riviera of Sunsets It’s a magical place: the pine forest, the sea, the sunset. Dancing barefoot on the sand, under the stars, amongst the trees, is a privilege we want to continue enjoying year after year. That’s why we’re asking for one simple thing: enjoy yourself, but take care of this place as if it were your home. Because it is.
What does it actually mean to leave a mark only in our memories and not on the beach? All it takes is a few simple steps that we can all take together:
- Use the bins and recycling points scattered around the festival site: the pine forest and the sea will thank you for it.
- Bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up at water fountains to reduce single-use plastic.
- Leave make room for others to dance and don’t block the view of the driver behind you.
- Please respect the the tranquillity of nature in quieter areas, such as the acoustic stage area Marley Stage.
- It deals with communal areas — camping, Color Market, food and drink areas — with the same care you’d take at home.
It is the same “leave no trace” principles that ensure large seaside festivals remain sustainable in the long term. If you’d like some more ideas on how to get around between music days, take a look at our guide to what to do in Calabria during the summer.
5) Feeling free: be yourself*.

Made up, dressed, undressed, coloured, loved and loved. At Colour Fest There’s no dress code; there’s no right or wrong way to be. There’s only your way. With glitter on your face or in a T-shirt and flip-flops, with coloured hair or your feet in the sand — here you’re free to be exactly who you want to be. It’s the freedom of expression that makes this festival different from any other.
This freedom works because it is based on mutual respect: being yourself without judging those around you who choose to be themselves in a different way. No posturing, no competition, no labels. Just people who have decided to spend three days in August by the sea celebrating music and themselves. This is the spirit of “Summer on a Solitary Beach”, the slogan of the Colour Fest 14: a beach where you can rediscover your true self.
6) Subscribe and camp

The full experience allows us to create community. That is what we work for. The Colour Fest You really get the full experience when you immerse yourself in all three days: waking up at the campsite, having breakfast with the other festival-goers, and enjoying the day from the first rays of sunshine right through to the final DJ set in the pine forest. And there’s a practical advantage too: if you subscribe and camp, you spend less. And if you are a family, the children under 10 years do not pay.
I tickets start from 35 euros for a single day, but the’Full Subscription For all three days, this is the choice for those who want to experience the festival to the full — and it’s also the best value for money. A word of caution: the subscriptions are running out, so if you’ve already made up your mind, it’s best not to wait. When it comes to accommodation, the Camping Ulisse (€70) it turned out sold out for 12 and 13 August, but the Lido La Baia (€60), just a stone's throw from the stage. You can find all the details on our page dedicated to festival camping in Calabria.
