Who is Nico Arezzo?

Nico Arezzo, class 1998, is a singer-songwriter born in Ragusa and today, based in Bologna. Before taking to the stage as a headliner, he experienced music from behind the scenes — as a cable runner, sound engineer, lighting technician and drummer — and this time spent working his way up is evident in the meticulous craftsmanship of his concerts. His debut album, «There’s no sea», establishing him as one of the most lucid writers of his generation, with songwriting that is never trite, but at once ironic and melancholic.

The turning point comes with Musicultura 2024, which Nico Arezzo wins with the song «Nicareddu», one of the most frequently cited articles in this edition, despite being written in Sicilian dialect. From there, his career took off: over fifty concerts in his «There’s no tour» and the announcement of a number of dates for Carmen Consoli in Italy’s leading theatres. The latest instalment is the album «There’s no rush», released on 16 January 2026, in which Sicilian becomes a pervasive language and intertwines naturally with Italian, right up to the reinterpretation of «The swordfish’, the song in dialect recorded by Domenico Modugno in 1954.

Who is Anna Castiglia?

Anna Castile, also born in 1998, was born in Catania into a family of artists — her mother was a theatre actress, her father a comedian and radio presenter, and her twin sister a circus performer in Paris — and trained at Turin, at the Gypsy Musical Academy, studying singing, dance and acting. She began writing songs at a very early age and, by the age of nine, was already studying classical guitar: a background that today informs her sophisticated, sarcastic and deeply personal songwriting.

His debut album, «Like», the 27 September 2024 and blends pop, R&B, samba, swing and gypsy influences in a rare balance between lightness and depth, exploring nostalgia, relationships that have ended and mental blocks. The most significant recognition came in 2025, with the Targa Tenco for the best debut album: a seal of approval from the critics, establishing her as one of the most authoritative voices of the new artistic songwriting Italian. Tracks such as «Ghali» They have turned it into a sort of generational manifesto.

The Nico Arezzo and Anna Castiglia duo live

The meeting between Nico Arezzo e Anna Castile It didn’t come about through calculation, but from a genuine friendship that also developed on stage at Musicultura 2024, where they were both among the winners. Their collaboration has already been recorded: Anna Castile is a guest of «There’s no rush» in the passage «Always the same‘, sung in Sicilian by two voices. Live, this chemistry becomes the heart of the show, with voices interplaying, acoustic guitars and moments of silence that highlight the lyrics more than the arrangements.

Here’s what makes this concert at the Colour Fest 14:

  • Two Targa-people of the new singer-songwriter track in a single performance, on the same stage and at the same moment.
  • The Sicilian dialect used as a living, contemporary language, not as a folkloric reference.
  • One dimension intimate and acoustic, perfect for the hour leading up to and during sunset over the sea.
  • A chance to hear them perform live «Always the same‘, their duet, as part of a festival.

The Day 2 of Colour Fest 14 It’s the festival’s most eclectic day. From the sophisticated pop of Sébastien Tellier, the dawn concert by Cosmo a The Source, the rock of the The Zen Circus and the psychedelic electronic music of the Yin Yin, there is scope for a proposal such as that put forward by Nico Arezzo + Anna Castiglia, which bears the Southern Italy into the programme in an authentic way, rather than in a contrived manner. It is precisely the sort of choice that sets the Colour Fest from others southern Italian festivals: the belief that a guitar and two voices can be just as good as a major international live show.

Their set forms part of the festival’s diverse mix of stages and atmospheres by the sea. To find out about all the artists and the full programme, please visit the Line-up for Color Fest 2026, whilst the page dedicated to Nico Arezzo + Anna Castiglia provides the latest details on the concert.
