Where Colour Fest 2026 takes place

The Colour Fest 14 has a home on the Falcone and Borsellino promenade, in the seaside village of Lamezia Terme overlooking the Gulf of St. Euphemia, in the province of Catanzaro. It is the so-called Riviera of Sunsetsa stretch of the Tyrrhenian coast where the sun sets straight down on the sea, perfect for this year's claim, Summer on a Solitary Beach. The festival area hosts four stages - the Tramonti Stage (CUPRA Stage)the Pinewood Stagethe Future Stagethe Marley Stage acoustic — plus the Colour Market. Keep this in mind when planning your commute: everything is concentrated on the waterfront, and whatever means of transport you choose leaves you just minutes from the entrance.

By plane: SUF airport 10 minutes from the sea

Color Fest - Lungomare Falcone e Borsellino, Riviera dei Tramonti in Lamezia Terme

L’Lamezia Terme International Airport (code SUF) is the quickest way if you come from the North or from abroad. It is one of the busiest airports in southern Italy: in May 2026 it will serve 18 airlines with routes to beyond 50 destinations. Direct flights from major Italian cities - Milan (Linate and Malpensa), Bologna, Genoa, Turin, as well as links for Cagliari, Brindisi e Perugia - operated by carriers such as Ryanair, ITA Airways, easyJet, Neos and AeroItalia. On the European front in the summer months, direct routes are added from the Germany (Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn, Hamburg, Hannover) with Lufthansa, Condor and Eurowings.

The decisive advantage is distance: from the airport SUF at Falcone and Borsellino promenade are just 10 minutes by car, a handful of kilometres along the coast. You land, take a taxi or hire car and within 15 minutes you are already barefoot on the sand. Hard to find a festival with an international airport so close to the stage.

By train: Frecciarossa, Intercity and regional trains

La Lamezia Terme Centrale station is a first-class railway hub on the Tyrrhenian ridge: we stop there Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Italo, Intercity, Intercity Night and the regional. From Rome Termini direct connections are numerous - about 21 trains per day - with the Frecciarossa faster, covering the route in just under 4 hours; average duration is around 4-5 hours depending on the service. From Milan and from the North there are direct daytime solutions and connections nocturnal with bunks, ideal for arriving refreshed on the morning of the’11 August.

From the station to the festival the leap is short: 10-15 minutes by taxi or city bus until Falcone and Borsellino promenade. The train is the best choice if you don't want to drive, if you are travelling in a group or if you prefer to read and sleep while the landscape of the Calabria flows out of the window.

By car: A2 Mediterranean motorway (free of charge)

If you love freedom of movement, the’cars remains unbeatable. La Calabria is crossed by the’A2 Mediterranean motorway (the former Salerno-Reggio Calabria), operated by ANAS and thus completely free of charge432 kilometres without a toll booth from Salerno until Reggio Calabria. Just exit at the junction of Lamezia Terme and follow the signs to the sea. Here are the approximate travel times:

  • From Rome: about 5 hours along the A1 and A2.
  • From Naples: about 3 hours on the A2 of the Mediterranean.
  • From Bari and the Apulia: about 3 hours via SS106 Jonica e SS280 dei Due Mari.
  • From Reggio Calabria and the Narrow: about 1 hour 15 minutes.
  • From Cosenza: about 45 minutes.

Good news for drivers: on the Falcone and Borsellino promenade there is free parking. A car is the perfect solution if you want to combine the festival with a few days' holiday and explore the region: take a look at our guide on what to do in Calabria and ideas for living summer in Calabria in the days around the event.

By low-cost bus: FlixBus to Gizzeria Lido

The most economic by far is the FlixBus. There are direct connections to most of’Italy, even at night, often from 15-25 € in promotion. The most strategic stop is Gizzeria Lido, on the SS18, at about 8 kilometres from the festival area and already overlooking the Riviera of Sunsets. Alternatively, buses also stop at Lamezia Terme at the Santa Eufemia station. From both stops you can reach the seafront with a short taxi transfer or by car-pooling between participants. If you are looking for the most convenient combination of transport and accommodation, also consider the formulas festival camping in Calabria.

Car-pooling between Color Fest participants

For years the Colour Fest encourages the carpooling between participants: departures co-ordinated by the North and from the Central Italy, shared travel costs and contacts made directly in the official festival group. It is the most ecological of getting there - fewer cars on the road, fewer emissions - and often also the best from a human point of view: the journey becomes part of the experience, and sometimes the friendships born on the motorway last longer than the three days of music. Active info and meeting points are published in the weeks before the event on the page Tickets and Info.

Where to stay: accommodation near the festival

Getting there is half the battle: the other half is choosing where to sleep. The official formulas of the Colour Fest keep you two steps away from the stage. The Camping Ulisse starts from 70 € and is the classic choice for those who want to experience the community atmosphere of the festival; the Lido La Baia starts from 60 €. Attention: the Camping Ulisse is already sold out for the nights of 12 and 13 August, while remaining at the Lido La Baia. If you come for the whole weekend, book your accommodation as soon as you confirm the tickets, because availability drops quickly.

What is the best way to get to the Color Fest?

There is no single answer: it depends on where you are going and how you want to experience the journey. In summary: the’aircraft at SUF is unbeatable since North and from abroad for speed; the train is the right balance of comfort and relaxation from the Centre; l’cars along the A2 free gives maximum freedom to those who also want to turn the Calabria; the FlixBus and the carpooling are the most inexpensive and sustainable. Whichever option you choose, remember that everything converges on a few kilometres of coastline, and that the Falcone and Borsellino promenade always welcomes you less than a quarter of an hour from the main arrival hubs.
