BE COLOUR' IS BORN
AND ANNOUNCES THE FRANZ FERDINAND
Big news for the music-loving public. Color Fest and Be Alternative Festival give life to "Be Colour"This is a partnership with the intention of sharing the organisation and production of a number of musical events in the coming summer in Calabria.
The first announcement is a declaration of intent: quality and undoubted international prominence. On 13 August, the final day of the Colour Fest will host the Franz Ferdinand in Calabria.
The Color Fest has already confirmed the dates: 11-12-13 August, at theagrotourism Costantino (Maida) and dates for the Be Alternative Festival will also be announced shortly.
Cooperation between festivals and high-calibre artists. These are the key words that will provide the backdrop for the next editions of Color Fest and Be Alternative Festival, two fixed appointments on the national scene for live music lovers.
After last year's Color Fest and Be Alternative Festival, which saw The Notwist and Kings of Convenience on stage respectively, comes the well-known Scottish band whose sound moves between alternative rock and post-punk revival. I Franz Ferdinand will be the headliner of the 13 Augustin a unique date in the whole of central and southern Italy.
"For a few years now, we have been working hard to give our festival an increasingly international character and we are very proud to be able to host artists of this level," said the festival's creator and artistic director Mirko Perri.
The famous band formed in 2003 and now consisting of Alex Kapranos (vocals and guitar), Bob Hardy (low), Dino Bardot (guitar), Julian Corrie (keyboards and backing vocals) and Audrey Tait (drums and backing vocals), he achieved international success with the second single 'Take Me Out', the precursor to his eponymous debut album that has sold almost 4 million copies worldwide.
After playing at major festivals across Europe, the Franz Ferdinand land in Calabria to present their latest project 'Hits To The Head"a 20-song collection released in 2022 that encompasses some of their biggest hits that established them as an undisputed British rock phenomenon.
Loving each other a littleBe Colour' is born
"The claim we chose for this edition is Loving each other a little - continues Perri - because we believe that at such a complicated time in history, it is essential to return to loving each other, to embrace each other, to come together under a stage. The world runs fast, often in hostile and divisive directions, but we want to return to the essence of love, because it has no forms or boundaries and knows no limits. For three days we will love each other, as we have done for 11 wonderful years now'.
An event that for the 11th edition broadens its horizons not only in artistic terms but is also enriched by an important new collaboration with Be Alternative Festival giving rise to Be Colour.
'For some time now we have been looking towards more international proposals,' says Cristian Romeo of Be Alternative Festival. The intention has always been to evolve and grow our territory. Be Colour is a great demonstration of growth. This makes it possible - by joining forces - to look towards new horizons. A long-awaited and by no means taken for granted collaboration. It is not easy to go 'beyond' vanity, it is not easy to share a stage, an idea, a modus operandi. We managed to put aside our 'I' for a 'we' and that is already a beautiful thing'.
For Be Colour This is an important first announcement, but it is only the beginning. In addition, both festivals will also announce their line-ups shortly, which on this premise will certainly not betray expectations.
Love each other a little and have the courage to intertwine the paths of life. Not just a claim, then, but an expression intended to be a profound reflection, through art and music, on our present, to look at a radical change in artistic and cultural terms, from Calabria to the rest of the world.
