Dimartino at Color Fest 14: the Sicilian singer-songwriter on Day 3

Dimartino in concert at Color Fest 14, 13 August 2026 in Lamezia Terme — Day 3

Dimartino at Colour Fest 14 It is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Day 3: the singer-songwriter from Palermo takes to the stage Thursday 13 August 2026, on the Riviera of Sunsets by Lamezia Terme, in Calabria. Following the years of global success alongside Colapesce, Antonio Di Martino returns to its original size of solo singer-songwriter and leads to the Falcone and Borsellino promenade the songs from his new album. A concert of exquisite craftsmanship, set within the 14th edition signed “Summer on a Solitary Beach”.

Who is Dimartino, the singer-songwriter from Palermo?

Dimartino: a profile of the singer-songwriter appearing at Color Fest 14, Day 3

Antonio Di Martino, in art Dimartino, was born in Palermo the 1 December 1982. His journey into music began in 1998 at the helm of the band Famelika, which he used until 2009. It was from that point onwards that he adopted his surname alone as his stage name and built a career as singer-songwriter one of the most respected of her generation, characterised by literary lyrics, melancholic irony and a melodic sensibility that draws on the great Italian tradition without ever compromising on artistic exploration.

As a solo artist, he has released albums that have become minor landmarks in the singer-songwriter genre: “Dear teacher, we’ve lost” (2010), “It would be lovely never to part, but letting go every now and then is useful” (2012), “We need a country” (2015), “A Rare World” with Fabrizio Cammarata (2017) e “Aphrodite” (2019). A coherent and distinctive discography, built without taking any shortcuts.

From his years with Colapesce to his return as a solo artist

Between the 2020 and the 2024, Dimartino brings to life with Colapesce to one of the most popular projects in recent Italian pop. Together they have released the albums “Mortals” (2020) e “Lux Eterna Beach” (2023), the film’s soundtrack “The Spring of My Life” (2023) and the live album featuring an orchestra “Strings, brass and worry” (2024). On stage at the’Ariston They perform two songs that have become part of the collective imagination: “Very light music” a Sanremo 2021 (fourth place) and “Splash” a Sanremo 2023, along with the “Mia Martini” Critics’ Award.

In 2024 The duo have announced they are taking a break. In the 2025 Dimartino is, however, returning to the’Ariston, a guest of my friend Brunori Sas on the evening of the cover versions. But it is the 2026 the year of the real turning point: seven years after his last album under his own name, the singer-songwriter is relaunching his solo career. And this is precisely the version of Dimartino which reaches the Colour Fest 14.

“The Unlikely Flood of the Oreto”: the new album from 2026

L’8 May 2026 comes out “The Unlikely Flooding of the Oreto”, the new solo album by Dimartino, preceded by the single “The Gold of the River” (20 March 2026), a folk ballad produced by Roberto Cammarata. The album takes its name from the’Oreto, the river of Palermo, and turns it into a symbol: the stream as a metaphor for the quest, mystery and transformation. The songs explore the meaning of the quest, and the relationship between what we pursue and what really matters.

To mark the release, Dimartino has opted for an intimate and radical format: guitar and vocals, in unusual and evocative settings, to “strip the song down and restore its fragility”. The same sensitivity that he will bring to the Falcone and Borsellino promenade, where every word carries weight and every silence becomes part of the song.

The live sound: vocals, songwriting, simplicity

In the solo version, Dimartino retains the text editing which has always set him apart, but shifts the focus towards a more intimate, chamber-music-style sound: acoustic guitar, melody and lyrics, with nothing to hide behind the arrangements. The songs gain in intimacy what they lose in radio appeal, becoming an intimate dialogue with the listener. For the audience at the Colour Fest, which is known for evenings that blend avant-garde electronic music and singer-songwriter performances, is exactly the sort of event that makes the festival’s programme so special.
