Apparat live: the electronic headliner on 11 August
Leading the Day 1 of Colour Fest 14 there is Apparat, stage name of Sascha Ring, one of the most influential producers in European electronic music over the last twenty years. A Berliner by choice, he is also one third of the Moderat, the famous project born out of a collaboration with Modeselektor. Under the moniker Apparat, Ring has developed a highly distinctive style in which techno, ambient, sound design and orchestral arrangements blend into an emotional flow that is rarely matched in a live setting.
The anticipation for his live performance at Lamezia Terme is fuelled by her return to recording: following the acclaimed LP5 of 2019, Apparat releases the new album “A Hum Of Maybe” the 20 February 2026 for Mute, his sixth studio album, accompanied by a full-line-up live tour in 2026. This means that the audience of the Colour Fest will have the chance to hear the latest tracks performed live by one of the artists best at turning a concert into a total experience, featuring immersive layers of sound and visuals. Full details of the show can be found on the dedicated page: Apparat at Color Fest 2026.
C’mon Tigre and Holden & Zimpel: the experimental heart of Day 1
Come on, Tigre – mergers without borders
I C'mon Tigre are an international collective of musicians and visual artists founded in Italy, capable of breaking down all genre barriers. Their sound blends jazz, Afrobeat, electronic, psychedelic and singer-songwriter music into a highly distinctive sonic mosaic. The album “Habitat”, released on 24 November 2023, is the clearest evidence of this vision: an album of collaborations that has brought together seemingly distant worlds, from the voice of Seun Kuti (heir to Fela Kuti) at the forefront of Arto Lindsay, via the Brazilian Xênia França and Italian Giovanni Truppi. On stage at the Colour Fest, i C'mon Tigre They deliver a live performance brimming with groove and visual appeal, perfect for the magical atmosphere of the seafront at night. Find out more at C’mon Tigre profile.
James Holden & Wacław Zimpel: a cosmic encounter
Among the most fascinating proposals of the’11 August there’s the duo James Holden & Wacław Zimpel. The British producer, a pioneer of modular electronics, and the Polish clarinettist and multi-instrumentalist, a leading figure in experimental jazz, met at the Rewire Festival in 2018, giving rise to a hypnotic and deeply improvisational collaboration. After the “Long Weekend EP”, recorded in just a few days at Holden’s London studio, the duo released the album “The Universe Will Take Care Of You”.” the 13 June 2025: a journey that is both cosmic and earthly, where modular synths interplay with the clarinet amidst echoes of kosmische music and Indian raga. Their set is a deeply immersive listening experience, perfect for those who love to be swept away. Full details on the page James Holden & Wacław Zimpel.
The new Italian scene: Gaia Banfi, Labadessa, Faccianuvola and Prima Stanza a Destra
The Colour Fest 14 has always been a showcase for emerging talent, and the Day 1 is no exception. Gaia Banfi, a singer-songwriter, musician and producer from Milan born in 1998, brings Lamezia his album “La Maccaia” (released on 4 April 2025 (by Trovarobato), hailed as one of the best Italian albums of the year: a sophisticated blend of pop, singer-songwriter music and electronic sounds, partly thanks to his training in jazz singing at the Bologna Conservatory. Find out more at Gaia Banfi's page.
Rounding off the line-up are three acts that showcase different facets of contemporary singer-songwriting. Labadessa weaves melancholy and irony into indie songwriting with a distinctly personal touch. Cloudface offers an intimate and introspective brand of singer-songwriting, among the most sincere offerings on the emerging scene. First Room to the Right is the anonymous Neapolitan project that has won over audiences and critics alike with its dreamy dream pop: following their debut EP “Amanda” (2025), published “The girl who played the piano” the 6 March 2026 for Sugar Music and has been chosen by Apple Music as the new name for the programme Up Next Italy.
