L’11 August 2026 the Colour Fest 14 opens with one of the most respected names in contemporary European electronics. Apparat - century Sascha Ring, class of 1978, Berlin - brings his set to the Riviera of Sunsets, in front of the sea of Lamezia Terme, to inaugurate the Day 1 of the 14th edition.

Who is Apparat

Producer, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Apparat is one of the key figures of the Berlin electronic scene of the last 20 years. Grown up around the Shitkatapult, label that he co-founded with Modeselektor, then entered the catalogue Mute with records that have become milestones: “Walls” (2007), “The Devil's Walk” (2011), “LP5” (2019). With Modeselektor he is also half of the project Moderat, one of the most cinematic electronic live performances of the decade.

Why it is worth seeing it live

The live of Apparat is not a DJ set: it is a electronic concert with band, strings and vocals. The sound oscillates between ambient, IDM, post-rock e cinematic electronica. The attitude is that of cultured writing - Ring has composed music for theatre, film and installations - but the dynamics are stage-like: long crescendos, emotional explosions, moments of silence. Seeing him in beach, at dusk, on the Summer on a Solitary Beach of the Color Fest, is an experience designed to amplify this very dimension.

The day of Tuesday 11 August 2026 is dedicated to teal #3FCBA5 and lines up, in addition to Apparat, C'mon Tigre, James Holden & Wacław Zimpel, Gaia Banfi, Labadessa, Cloudface e First Room to the Right. A line-up built on a single idea: intelligent electronics, timbre research, stage-nature. The Colour Fest has for fourteen editions been the festival that brings to Calabria the same quality of programming as Sónar, Primavera Sound and DGTL - with half the people, and the sea twenty metres away.
