The fourteenth edition of the Color Fest continues to unveil a playbill full of international names, and the latest announcement is one to make the hearts of fans of electronic music and auteur pop beat faster. Sébastien Tellier, icon of the French touch scene and among the most eclectic musicians of his generation, will take the stage at Color Fest on 12 August 2026, bringing his unmistakable sound universe to the Riviera dei Tramonti in Lamezia Terme.
The Parisian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist joins a programme that, day after day, confirms the Calabrian festival's vocation: to bring artists capable of redefining the boundaries between genres, cultures and musical languages to southern Italy. An announcement that makes the lineup of Color Fest 14 even more cosmopolitan and ambitious, in full coherence with the philosophy of a festival that since 2013 has transformed Calabria's Tyrrhenian coast into a crossroads of contemporary sounds and visions.
Who is Sébastien Tellier: the romantic dandy of French music
Born in Le Plessis-Bouchard in 1975, Sébastien Tellier is an artist who eludes any label. Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, actor: in a career spanning more than 20 years, he has built up a discography in which pop, electronic, folk, disco and bossa nova intertwine with a naturalness that belongs only to true visionaries. His debut in 2001 with L'incroyable Vérité, mixed by Mr. Oizo and released on Record Makers (the same label as Air), immediately brought him to the attention of international critics. Rolling Stone called it one of the most unique sounds of the year.
Recognition on a global scale came in 2004 with the album Politics, which contains what is unanimously considered his masterpiece: La Ritournelle, a symphonic and hypnotic track that experienced a new global consecration in 2024 when Tellier performed it live at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics in Paris, at the foot of the Obelisk in Place de la Concorde. After that performance, the song shot up to number two of the most searched titles on Shazam in France, confirming its status as a timeless classic.
Over the years, Tellier has collaborated with the likes of Air, Moby, Cassius and Röyksopp, and has managed to reinvent himself with each record release: from the album Sexuality produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, to 2014's L'Aventura, inspired by the Brazilian sounds of his imaginary childhood.
Kiss The Beast: new album anticipates live at Color Fest
Tellier comes to Lamezia Terme in the wake of Kiss The Beast, his eighth studio album released on 30 January 2026 by Because Music. An album that critics have described as a return to its more seductive roots, but with a desire to explore new and unexpected territories. The work ranges between synth-pop, disco, introspective ballads and moments of pure sonic adventure, confirming Tellier as an artist incapable of repeating himself.
Kiss The Beast boasts prestigious collaborations: Nile Rodgers, legendary Chic guitarist, appears in the track Thrill of the Night together with singer Slayyyter, while Kid Cudi duets with Tellier in the track Amnesia. The production, handled by Tellier himself together with SebastiAn, Oscar Holter and Victor Le Masne, builds a soundscape that the artist himself describes as monumental and maximalist, driven by the pure pleasure of making music.
The live performance at the Color Fest will be a rare opportunity to hear this new material live alongside the classics that have marked the French artist's career: from La Ritournelle to Divine, from the nocturnal pop of Fantino to the tropical atmospheres of L'Aventura.
Color Fest 14: a line-up that looks to the world from Calabria
The arrival of Sébastien Tellier is part of a programme that is taking shape day by day and confirms the international dimension of the Color Fest. The fourteenth edition, scheduled from 11 to 13 August 2026, has already unveiled names such as Apparat, James Holden & Wacław Zimpel, Django Django, Deadletter and Yīn Yīn, joined by leading Italian artists such as Cosmo (with an exclusive concert at dawn to present the album La Fonte), The Zen Circus, Tutti Fenomeni and La Niña, winner of the Targa Tenco 2025.
The programme is still evolving and new announcements will arrive in the coming weeks, but the identity of the festival is already clear: a place where auteur music meets electronics, where Italian singer-songwriting dialogues with the European avant-garde, where every evening on the beach is transformed into a collective sound journey. The Riviera dei Tramonti, Lungomare Falcone e Borsellino, offers the perfect natural setting for this experience: the sea, sunsets, music under the stars.
Why not miss Sébastien Tellier live
Anyone who has been lucky enough to attend a Sébastien Tellier concert knows that the stage, for him, is a place of transformation. His live performances are renowned for their ability to oscillate between the theatrical and the poetic, between provocative glamour and the most delicate melancholy. Tellier is an atypical stage animal: with his unmistakable look of long hair, beard, dark glasses and cap, he is the dandy of the electronic scene who manages to combine irony and depth in every note.
He has often been accompanied on stage by exceptional musicians, and his set is a journey that spans twenty-five years of his career without ever losing the thread of a coherent and surprising musical narrative. From disco-funk explosions to moments of almost whispered intimacy, each of Tellier's concerts is an experience that goes far beyond mere listening. The opportunity to see him on the Calabrian coast, with the Tyrrhenian Sea as a backdrop, adds an extra layer of charm to an already unmissable event.
Color Fest: fourteen editions of music, territory and community
The Color Fest is not just a music festival: it is a cultural project that has been working on the regeneration of the Calabrian territory through music and the arts since 2013. Organised by the association Che Cosa Sono Le Nuvole APS, under the artistic direction of Mirko Perri, the festival has hosted artists such as Franz Ferdinand, Editors, Brunori Sas, Cosmo, Afterhours, Verdena, Nada, Colapesce Dimartino, Iosonouncane and many others during its editions.
Each edition builds an immersive experience that goes beyond the concert: exhibitions, installations, yoga, stand-up comedy, camping and get-togethers make Color Fest an open-air cultural ecosystem. The claim of this edition, Summer on a Solitary Beach, tells the essence of a proposal that invites you to experience summer as an act of discovery: discovering artists, places, a living, contemporary Calabria.
