It is still time for big announcements for Colour Fest XI. The festival, one of the major music events of the Italian summer, is already soundchecking for the 2023 edition - 11, 12 and 13 August at Agriturismo Costantino in Maida (CZ), a stone's throw from Lamezia Terme - and reveals the names of the Headliner in the line-upbetween expected returns and international novelties.
A grassroots festival that has become one of the most eagerly awaited events in the south, which over the past ten years has recorded a total of 60,000 attendancesbetween main events and spin-offs, and which through the 11th edition wants to inaugurate an important new path, with a broader look at the world.
"We have always endeavoured to offer our audience a line-up that could unite different genres and generations,' commented artistic director Mirko Perri. 'This year, too, we have worked in this direction, involving musical styles, artists, and wide-ranging projects, while trying to bring some of the most interesting proposals on the international scene, such as Franz Ferdinand and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, exclusively to Calabria.
A very precise artistic line, which makes Colour Fest a formative moment and intergenerational meeting place. One of the most eagerly awaited events for the public to get together under the stage, get excited about music and Loving each other a little, as the claim of the 11th edition reads.
Ample space will in fact be dedicated to artists loved by the youngest: headliners on the evening of 11 August will in fact be Lovegang126the Roman collective formed by Franco126, Ketama126, Pretty Solero, Drone126, Asp126, Ugo Borghetti e Nino Brown, e Nello Taver, one of the most popular rappers and creators on the web.
Among the artists already announced are the International headliners of the final evening on 13 August, realised in collaboration with the Be Alternative Festival and numbered BE COLOR: i Franz Ferdinand, who arrive in Calabria for the only date at the Centre-South Italy to hear live some of the biggest hits that established them as an undisputed British rock phenomenon.
Anticipation is growing for the big return on 12 August of the Verdena, among the best-loved bands on the Italian music scene, already guests of the third edition of the festival. On the same evening, also on the line-up is the overwhelming afrobeat sound of Seun Kuti & Egypt 80.
After having collaborated on the 'Rocambolic Endings' EP, on 13 August they will also be together on the Color 11 stage Giorgio Canali + Praino. Further announcements will follow in the coming days to complete the 2023 line-up.
