The Colour Fest<\/strong> It has always been the case, ever since 2012<\/strong>, a prime vantage point overlooking the independent music<\/strong>: a festival that puts the headliner<\/em> international artists alongside up-and-coming talents, giving them the same stage and the same audience. The 14th edition<\/strong>, scheduled for the\u201911, 12 and 13 August 2026<\/strong> on Riviera of Sunsets<\/strong> at Calabria<\/strong>, is no exception. And the Day 1<\/strong> It begins with precisely this philosophy: backing the names that are already making their mark today, but which are set to take off tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaia Banfi: singer-songwriting that becomes a soundscape<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gaia Banfi<\/strong>, singer-songwriter, musician and producer Milanese<\/strong>, is one of the most interesting new voices to have emerged recently on the Italian music scene. His songwriting is pop<\/em> immediate yet profound in substance: a language that blends songwriting<\/strong>, electronics<\/strong>, ambient<\/em> and ideas jazz<\/em>, built around a vocal style that is both intense and airy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His second album, \u201cLa Maccaia\u201d<\/strong> (released on 4 April 2025<\/strong> for Lost and Found<\/strong>), was one of the most acclaimed debuts of the year: an album redolent of mist, memories and Liguria, preceded by the singles \u201cCentral Square\u201d<\/em> e \u201cSeia\u201d<\/em>. As early as 2020<\/strong> had published \u201cLotus\u201d<\/strong>, whilst at the start of the 2026<\/strong> She\u2019s back with some new tracks \u201cIn his memory\u201d<\/em> e \u201cIn the spotlight\u201d<\/em>. His stated influences \u2014 from Bon Iver<\/strong> a Radiohead<\/strong>, from Floating Points<\/strong> a Stan Getz<\/strong> \u2014 say a great deal about the depth of the project. At the Colour Fest 14<\/strong> It could well be one of the most evocative live performances of the whole day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labadessa: the singer-songwriter who never ceases to amaze<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Labadessa<\/strong> It is one of those projects that has built up a loyal following away from the mainstream spotlight, focusing on the quality of the writing rather than on hype. It is a indie singer-songwriting<\/em> with delicate textures, carefully crafted arrangements and lyrics that linger in the mind long after you\u2019ve finished listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song that, more than any other, made him famous is \u201cWe should get a dog\u201d<\/strong> (2019<\/strong>), which over the years has become a little cult gem of the the Italian independent film scene<\/strong>, much talked about and sought after by a loyal following. Live, Labadessa<\/strong> transforms these songs into intimate, atmospheric moments, perfect for the sunset atmosphere on the first evening of the Colour Fest<\/strong>. A set that\u2019s perfect for those who love singer-songwriter<\/strong> done with care and attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faccianuvola: Gen Z\u2019s electronic emotionality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Behind Cloudface<\/strong> there is Alessandro Feruda<\/strong>, class of 2002<\/em>, originally from Valtellina<\/strong>: singer-songwriter, songwriter and producer who transformed the\u2019autotune<\/em> from pop effect to expressive instrument. His music is a fusion of the Italian singer-songwriter tradition<\/strong> and electronics<\/strong> dreamy, made of synth<\/em> captivating and evocative lyrics \u2014 to the extent that some have detected, in his way of re-enchanting pop, an echo of Franco Battiato<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with the first tracks published on SoundCloud in 2022<\/strong>, made his debut with the album \u201cthe stars* the sun; the rainbow))\u201d<\/strong> at 2024<\/strong>, and then went on to prove itself with \u201cThe sweet memory of our desperate youth\u201d<\/strong> (2025<\/strong>, Columbia Records \/ Sony Music Italy<\/strong>), an album characterised by a more mature and multi-layered style of songwriting. It\u2019s one of those projects that works really well at a festival like the Colour Fest<\/strong>: a modest collection, but music that really comes into its own and can captivate a wide audience when needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Room on the Right: dream pop from Naples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First Room to the Right<\/strong> He is perhaps the most talked-about name in this quartet. Producer and songwriter<\/em> Neapolitan<\/strong>, at a very young age, he created a highly recognisable soundscape: falsetto<\/em> delicate, dreamlike atmospheres, a production that blends dream pop<\/strong>, shoegaze<\/em> e trip hop<\/em>. Each of his songs seems to begin life first as a landscape and then as a song, with a very strong visual element.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second EP, \u201cThe girl who played the piano\u201d<\/strong> (2026<\/strong>), made this point abundantly clear: the tracks feature some major collaborations, such as the one with Dardust<\/strong> and with BRAIL<\/strong>. His live career, meanwhile, is already impressive \u2014 from summer festivals to supporting acts for the likes of James Blake<\/strong> in Turin and Fred again..<\/strong> in Naples. At the Colour Fest 14<\/strong> It brings together all this imagery, suspended between dream and electronic music, in one of the most original offerings of the Day 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
